MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Date: 1929

History: Our first recorded Club Championship was held in 1929 and was won by M. Gonsalves. The Club Championship trophy was first award in 1935 and is still in use today. The trophy itself was named in memory of an early member, George Anderson.

This competition has changed format over the past 90 years. It originally started as two rounds of stroke with the top eight heading into Matchplay to determine the winner. The format changed to four rounds of stroke when the Club introduced a Match Play Championship.

Rules:

Traditionally, played over four rounds, 72-holes. The winner is the player who has the lowest number of strokes over the four rounds.

The Club Championships are played from the blue plates at the back of each tee.
