Date: 27 March 1937
History: In 2021, the President’s Cup was repatriated to the Club after an 84-year absence. Beverly Hemming (née Hitchcock), the great-granddaughter of foundation member George Hitchcock, very kindly donated the trophy to the Club.
The Hitchcock name is familiar to us due to Hitchcock Park in Avalon, which was named after George. The Trophy was presented to Mr Hitchcock in 1937 by then President, C. R. Moser, Esq. It has taken its rightful place in our trophy cabinet.
Rules:
This is an individual handicapped stroke event. It is played throughout the year on medal rounds. A minimum of 6 medal rounds must be played to qualify for the trophy. The winner is a member who has the best combined 6 net scores in a medal round over the course of the year.
