History: Named in honour of Ron Brightwell who was President from 1984 to 1995, our longest serving President.

The 1992 Annual Report indicates that the Fourball Championship commenced in 1993 and was then renamed to the Ron Brightwell Fourball Championship after Ron’s sudden passing in 1996.

This is actually a replacement for an earlier trophy after the original was never returned to the Club.

Rules: This is the Fourball championship. It is played in pairs over two 18-hole rounds. The winners are the pair that have the highest combined fourball score over the two rounds. The handicap the players used in the first round will be the same used for the second round of the Championship.  If the players handicap has changed between the two rounds, they will play off their daily handicap for the competition of the day.
