MEN'S GOLD MEDAL

Date: 1967

History:

It is likely that the Gold Medal was played for prior to 1967.  Unfortunately, our records only commence from 1967. Between 1969 and 1984, the Gold Medal was awarded to the lowest net score in A, B, and C Grade.  In 1985, the Gold Medal format reverted to being awarded to the lowest combined overall net score.

Rules:

The Gold Medal is traditionally played for over two rounds, the medal rounds in May and June each year. All players who have won a medal in the preceeding 12 months are eligible. Both Gold Medal rounds are played off the handicap the player started the 1st round with. The winner is the one with the lowest combined net score over the two rounds.  The winner receives a Gold Medal.  All Gold Medal Rounds are to be played from the plates.
